보통 제품은 factory에서 생산되어
1,2,3번 case와 같이 wholesaler, retailer, consumer 에게 이동하게됩니다

전통적으로 1번 case가 가장 많은 경우이지만,
점차 정보기술이 발전하면서 2,3번 case로도 제품이 유통되고 있습니다.

dropshipping은 producer와 consumer 를 이어주는
sales만을 전문적으로 하는 seller가 존재하고,
그 결과 seller는 sales 에만 집중하기 위해
shipping 업무를 다른사람에게 전가한 형태입니다.

producer가 수행을 하기도 하고,
아니면 agent를 사용하여 업무를 대행하기도 합니다.

결국 dropshipping을 이용하는 seller는
sales만 하게됨으로써 본인의 전문성을 살릴 수 있습니다.

조금 다른 도메인인 보험에서
보험분야에서 GA(General Agent)는 dropshipping seller와 같은 역할을 합니다.
특정 보험사에 속해서 활동하지 않고, 여러 보험사의 보험상품을 소비자에게 판매합니다.
그리고 보험서비스를 직접제공하지 않고 계약만 제공합니다.

dropshipping seller 도 특정 제품만 판매하지 않고,
여러 producer, wholesaler, retailer 의 제품을 소비자에게 판매합니다.
그리고 제품을 직접 소비자에게 배송하지 않고, 물건의 공급처에 주문을 넣어 배송만 소비자에게 바로가도록 합니다

이 개념이 dropshipping 에서 가장 중요한 개념이며,
물건의 공급처는 producer, wholesaler, retailer 중 어느것도 될 수 있고, 모두가 될 수도 있습니다.
